Our Story

A picture does tell 1,000 words… We thought you would enjoy a photo journey through our history of Marjorie’s. Enjoy this, as you are part of our story!!

1995 – Marjorie “Midge” Dey opens her first business, Marjorie’s, a retail gift store. She chooses a tiny, but quite adorable space located within Mill Village in Sudbury, MA.

July, 1997 – Anita Diamant, author of The Red Tent does an article on *Marjorie’s for the Boston Globe.
1997 – Midge outgrows her first space and moves to a larger location next door. With this next step in the business, her daughter, Jennifer, joins the team.

Cute Harwichport Store!
1998 – Midge moves to Cape Cod and opens a second store in Harwichport. This “by-the-sea” location inspires her new shell creations from her walks on the beach.
2000 – Brewster store is opened to sell antiques and accents. Now there are 3 Marjorie’s!
2002 – The Cape Cod locations are combined into the Brewster store.
We added new signs and awnings in our Sudbury location.

Marjorie & Freddi, our Vietri representative
2003 – Sudbury hosts a party to celebrate our Vietri account.

Now we are 10!

October, 2005 – Marjorie’s donates a portion of all sales to the Breast Cancer Center at the Concord Hospital. Wow, a $1000. check!!!
November, 2005 – Marjorie’s hosts “Master Engraver” from Simon Pearce at our Sudbury location. They honored our 10 year relationship with a fun event featuring free etching!
December, 2005 – Whew… what a storm! The Brewster shop is badly damaged by high winds and falling trees in a freak storm. This helped make the decision to move the shop once again.
April, 2006- New Brewster shop opens in Foster Square, a 6A shopping village!

May, 2006 – We end our 10th year celebration in Sudbury with a “tea & celebration” with the author (and good friend) Joan Anderson.
